Tuesday Talks: Is it Rude to Interrupt Someone When They’re Reading?
I think a iot would depend on the interruption and on who the interrupter is (certain people can interrupt without feeling my wrath). Some interruptions, while annoying, aren’t necessarily rude. The dog needs to go out. Your parents want to dishes down sometime today. Your ride needs to leave right now if you’re going to be on time. I’ve never minded a quick, “Hey, whatcha reading? Is it good?”, provided they let me go back to my book. But prolonging a conversation despite the fact that they keep the book open or return to reading after you’ve been taken care of? Yeah, not cool.
